01 / THE GAP
Supervisors, maintenance leaders, and off-site support staff may need operational context when they are away from a handheld or outside the building. A full dispatch platform can be more system than the job requires. An informal scanner stream lacks the controls an industrial operation deserves.
Facility Radio is focused on the narrower need: private, managed listening for people the facility has approved.
02 / HOW IT WORKS
The intended product is configured only for channels approved during site qualification, is designed to send encrypted outbound feeds, and will require approved users to sign in.
Confirm documented authority, identify communications and privacy obligations for professional review, and assess radio mode, channel spacing, RF conditions, network ownership, and intended users.
A supported receiver and appliance are configured for the approved channels. The existing radio system stays in place.
The product is being designed to provide individual, revocable access to assigned sites and channels. Public listener links are not part of the service.
Health, connectivity, updates, and recovery become part of an operating process rather than a collection of radio utilities.
04 / PRODUCT BOUNDARIES
Industrial radio traffic can expose employee, safety, security, and production information. The service is being designed around explicit authorization and controlled access.
No transmit or push-to-talk in version one.
Deployment requires documented customer authority for each channel plus review of applicable communications, privacy, employee-monitoring, and retention obligations.
Individual, revocable access. No public listener URLs.
The validation-stage service does not offer recording. Any future consideration requires separate policy, authorization, retention, and professional review.
The service supplements existing radios and emergency procedures. It does not replace them.
05 / EARLY FIT
Initial discovery is focused on U.S. manufacturing, warehousing, food and beverage, packaging, distribution, and private industrial campuses using conventional analog business-band channels.
Digital, trunked, encrypted, shared, healthcare, public-safety, and life-safety systems are outside the first-release scope unless later technical and professional review supports them.

No. Facility Radio is intended to supplement the existing radio system with receive-only browser access for approved users.
